Colts Franchise TE Dallas Clark

They also managed to resign starting G Ryan Lilja. The franchising of Dallas Clark is a bit of a weird move to me though. He just came off an 11 TD season, but only had 3 during his previous 4 seasons. Part of the reason I think he has so many TDs recently is because Harrison was injured all of last season. I guess that since L.J. Smith was also franchised, the market for other TEs is slim, but Dallas Clark hasn't really had the production over his career to merit the tag. On the other hand, it will only cost the Colts 4.5 million, so it really isn't a terrible move.
