Eagles' TE Gets Franchise Tag

In a fairly quick move, seeing as today was the first day teams could apply the franchise tag, the Philadelphia Eagles have applied the franchise tag to their Tight End LJ Smith. He's been fairly injury prone, but the Eagles really can't afford to lose a TE with the pass catching skills because of their fairly sub-par Wide Receivers. Smith has publicly stated his satisfaction with this, but it'll be interesting to see what he thinks about it when and if they don't sign him long-term.
